The MCS Fresher Hiring Report is a short monthly look at who is really hiring freshers in India, based only on the open jobs listed on My Career Solution (MCS). This is the first edition, for October 2026. It answers three simple questions for freshers: how many openings are actually meant for freshers, which cities have them, and which companies are hiring.

How We Made This Report

We took a snapshot of every open job in the public MCS job list on 1 November 2026. The list has 2,205 open jobs; we removed 20 that are based outside India, which leaves 2,185 jobs. These jobs come from company career pages and other job sources that MCS collects every day. 971 of them were posted in October 2026.

To decide the level of a job, we read only the job title, because that is what the company wrote itself:

• Fresher / intern / trainee: the title says intern, internship, trainee, fresher, graduate, new grad, apprentice or 0-1 year.
• Entry level: the title says junior, associate, or level I (for example "SDE I" or "Software Engineer I"), and does not say senior, lead or manager.
• Experienced: the title says senior, staff, principal, lead, manager, head, director or architect.
• Level not stated: the title gives no level (for example "Backend Engineer").

This is a simple and strict method. Some "level not stated" jobs may also accept freshers, so read our numbers as openings that clearly say they want freshers, not every job a fresher could apply for.

Only 6% of Open Jobs Clearly Say Fresher or Entry Level

What this means for you: fresher openings are a small slice of the market, so you cannot depend on job boards alone. Apply early to the fresher roles that do exist, and also try the "level not stated" roles at companies that hire many people. A short, direct cold email to HR often works better than a cold application there.

Bengaluru and Delhi NCR Lead Fresher Hiring

Of the 130 fresher and entry-level openings, 50 are in Bengaluru and 25 are in Delhi NCR (Delhi, Noida and Gurugram). Pune and Mumbai have 6 each, and Hyderabad and Ahmedabad 2 each. 37 openings are in smaller cities or do not name a city (for example "India" or remote internships).

Companies With the Most Fresher and Entry-Level Openings

77 different companies had at least one open fresher or entry-level job. The ones with the most:

• Paytm (16): talent acquisition and HR internships, customer support and insurance associate roles, mostly in Noida and Gurugram.
• Stripe (10): a Software Engineer New Grad role and a Software Engineer Intern role in Bengaluru, plus operations associate roles.
• Bosch (6): graduate management trainee, junior engineer and process associate roles.
• MongoDB (5) and Hevo Data (5): associate roles in support, recruiting, sales and engineering, and an SDE I role at Hevo Data.
• FamPay (4): internships in security engineering, people operations and copywriting.

Which Roles Freshers Are Being Hired For

• Software engineering (52 of 130) is the biggest group. Inside it, DevOps and cloud internships (23) stand out, along with frontend, MERN and full stack roles (15).
• HR and recruiting (12): mostly talent acquisition internships.
• Marketing and content (10): SEO executive, growth marketing and copy roles.
• Data and analytics (9), finance, legal and operations (9) and sales (7) make up most of the rest.

47 of the 130 openings are internships. For many companies an internship is the main way in, so do not skip them if you are in your final year or just graduated.

What Freshers Should Do This Month

1. Set alerts for fresher words. Search for "intern", "trainee", "graduate", "associate" and "SDE I", not just "fresher".
2. Pick one skill track that is hiring. DevOps and cloud basics (Linux, Git, CI/CD, one cloud) and frontend (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) had the most fresher openings in this snapshot.
3. Make your resume pass the first screen. Use a clean ATS-friendly resume format for freshers with projects and links.
4. Apply early. Fresher roles get many applications. Apply within the first few days a role is posted.
5. Follow up with HR. A short, polite email to the recruiter after applying helps you stand out.
