IT Companies in Bangalore for Freshers: List by Tech Hub, Roles and How to Apply
MCS Team · 2 Nov 2026 · Career & Interview Prep
Key Takeaways
- Bangalore (Bengaluru) has the largest number of IT employers in India, but fresher hiring is concentrated in a few hubs: Electronic City, Whitefield, the Outer Ring Road belt (Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road), Manyata Tech Park in the north, and the startup areas of Koramangala, HSR Layout and Indiranagar.
- Large IT services companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, HCLTech and LTIMindtree hire the most freshers, mainly through campus drives and national off-campus tests.
- Product companies, startups and global capability centres (GCCs) pay more but hire fewer freshers, usually through internships, new-grad roles and SDE I openings.
- In our own jobs feed, only a small share of Bangalore openings are clearly entry-level, so you have to apply early, apply often, and target the right kind of company.
- A focused plan beats mass applying: pick one role, build one strong project, tailor your resume, and apply to fresh openings every day.
Looking for IT companies in Bangalore for freshers? The short answer: start with the big IT services companies that run regular fresher drives (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, HCLTech, LTIMindtree), then add product companies and startups that hire interns and SDE I engineers, and finally global tech centres that run graduate programmes. This guide shows where these companies sit in Bangalore, what each type looks for, and a 7-step plan to get your first interview call.
It is written for B.E./B.Tech, BCA, MCA and B.Sc. graduates who want their first IT job in Bangalore. For the national picture, read our pillar guide on top IT companies in India for freshers and experienced professionals.

Where Are the IT Companies in Bangalore? The Main Tech Hubs
Bangalore is a big city with heavy traffic, so the first thing to understand is where the jobs actually are. Most IT offices sit in five clusters. Group your target companies by cluster so that interviews, PG options and your future commute stay practical.

- Electronic City (south, Hosur Road): one of the oldest IT zones in the city, with large campuses of IT services companies. Infosys's well-known Bengaluru campus is here, along with many other services and engineering firms. Expect a lot of fresher hiring through campus and off-campus drives.
- Whitefield (east): home to ITPL (International Tech Park Bangalore, set up in the 1990s) and many other tech parks. A mix of IT services companies, hardware and engineering firms and global tech centres.
- Outer Ring Road (Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road): the busiest corridor for product companies and global capability centres, with large parks such as Embassy TechVillage. Wipro's head office is on Sarjapur Road. Pay is often higher here, and so is the selection bar.
- Manyata Tech Park and Hebbal (north): a very large tech park with offices of global IT, consulting and engineering companies. A good area to check if you live in north Bangalore.
- Koramangala, HSR Layout and Indiranagar (central-south-east): the startup belt. Fewer mass drives, but many internships and skills-first fresher roles in web, mobile, QA and data.
Other smaller pockets include CV Raman Nagar (Bagmane Tech Park), Bannerghatta Road and the Yeshwanthpur-Peenya side. Tenant lists of each park change often, so always confirm a company's current office address on its careers page before you go for an interview.
IT Companies in Bangalore for Freshers: The List by Type
One long list of 100 names does not help much. It is more useful to split Bangalore's employers into four groups, because each group hires freshers in a different way. Hiring changes every year, so always check current openings and eligibility on the company's own careers page.

1. Large IT services companies (the biggest fresher recruiters)
These companies hire freshers in large batches every year. Almost all of them have big offices in Bangalore, and Infosys and Wipro are headquartered in the city.
- TCS (Tata Consultancy Services): national hiring through the TCS NQT test.
- Infosys: headquartered in Bengaluru, with its large campus in Electronic City.
- Wipro: head office on Sarjapur Road.
- Accenture, Cognizant and Capgemini: several offices across the city.
- HCLTech, LTIMindtree and IBM: regular graduate and associate engineer hiring.
How they hire freshers: an online aptitude and coding test, a technical interview and an HR interview. Most drives set eligibility rules (minimum marks, no active backlogs, limited education gaps), so read each notice carefully. Typical titles are Systems Engineer, Associate Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst Trainee and Graduate Engineer Trainee. Prepare for the HR round with our list of HR interview questions for freshers.
2. Product companies and unicorns
Bangalore is India's product capital. Companies such as Meesho, CRED, Groww, Freshworks, InMobi, Zeta and Paytm list Bangalore openings on the MCS jobs page. Most of their roles ask for experience, but they do hire freshers through internships, SDE I roles and campus programmes.
Selection is tougher: expect data structures and algorithms rounds, a project discussion and sometimes a system basics round. Our guide to product based companies in India for freshers explains the hiring process in detail.
3. Global capability centres (GCCs) and global tech companies
Many global companies run large engineering centres in Bangalore. In the MCS jobs feed we currently see Bangalore openings from Bosch, Databricks, Okta, MongoDB, Stripe, Rubrik, Cisco and Oracle.
Be realistic here. Most of their roles are for experienced engineers. Freshers get in through specific entry points that open only at certain times: new-grad software engineer roles, internships, industrial trainee programmes and graduate engineer schemes. For example, at the time of writing our feed shows a "Software Engineer, New Grad" and a "Software Engineer, Intern" role at Stripe, an "ASIC Verification" early-career role at Bosch, and industrial trainee roles at Rubrik. Set job alerts so you do not miss these windows.
4. Startups and mid-size software companies
Koramangala, HSR Layout, Indiranagar and the ORR area have thousands of startups. They rarely run mass drives, but they hire interns and freshers for web development, mobile apps, QA, DevOps and data roles. Our feed currently shows entry-level engineering roles such as SDE I and Associate SDE Intern at Hevo Data, SDE I at Safe Security and a Software Development Engineer Intern role at HackerRank.
Startups care more about what you can build than your college name. A GitHub profile with one or two working projects can get you an interview faster than a high CGPA. Before you join a small company, check its website, LinkedIn page, ratings on our companies page and the offer letter.
What Bangalore Job Openings Look Like Right Now
We pulled the open Bangalore and Bengaluru listings in the MCS jobs feed on 2 November 2026. There were a little over 1,100 open roles from more than 100 companies. When we filtered the titles for words like intern, trainee, new grad, graduate, associate and SDE I, fewer than 100 roles were left.
This is a snapshot of one feed, not the whole market, but the lesson is clear: most Bangalore openings ask for experience. Freshers who only apply to "Software Engineer" job posts get few replies. You will get better results if you:
- search for entry-level words (intern, trainee, new grad, associate, SDE I, graduate engineer) instead of only "fresher";
- apply in the first two or three days after a role is posted;
- register for every off-campus test of the large IT services companies, because that is where most fresher seats are.
Fresher IT Roles in Demand in Bangalore
If you are still deciding what to learn, pick one of these tracks and go deep instead of learning a little of everything.
| Role | Skills to show | Where it is common |
|---|---|---|
| Java backend / Software Engineer | Core Java, Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs | IT services, GCCs, fintech |
| Full stack / MERN developer | JavaScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB | Startups, product companies |
| Python / data analyst | Python, SQL, Excel, a dashboard tool | Product companies, GCCs, analytics firms |
| QA / test automation | Manual testing basics, Selenium or Playwright, API testing | IT services, product companies |
| Cloud / DevOps (junior) | Linux, Git, Docker, one cloud platform | Startups, GCCs |
| Embedded / VLSI | C, C++, microcontrollers, Verilog basics | Automotive and semiconductor centres |
| Technical support / associate | Communication, networking basics, SQL | SaaS companies, IT services |
Your resume should match the track you choose. Use our resume format for software developer freshers and make it ATS friendly before you start applying.
How to Get an IT Job in Bangalore as a Fresher: 7 Steps
Here is a simple plan that works whether you are in Bangalore already or applying from another city.

- Pick one target role. Choose one track from the table above. A clear target makes your resume, projects and interview answers sharper.
- Build one strong project for that role. A working app with a live link and a clean GitHub README is worth more than five copied tutorials. Be ready to explain every design choice.
- Make a one-page, role-specific resume. Put skills and projects first, use the keywords from real job descriptions, and keep the format simple so ATS software can read it.
- Make a target list of 40-60 companies. Mix all four types: 10-15 IT services companies (for drives), 15-20 product companies and GCCs (for new-grad and intern roles) and 15-20 startups. Group them by hub.
- Register for off-campus drives. Create accounts on the careers portals of the big IT services companies and register for their national tests as soon as they open.
- Apply daily and reach out directly. Spend 45-60 minutes a day applying to fresh openings and sending a short message to a recruiter or alumnus. Our cold email to HR templates help with the wording.
- Prepare for interviews in parallel. Practise aptitude, one coding platform, your project explanation and common HR questions. Track every application in a simple sheet so you can follow up after 5-7 days.
If you apply for weeks and still get no replies, the problem is usually the resume or the targeting, not your luck. Read how to get interview calls for freshers for a 30-day version of this plan.
Campus, off-campus, referral or walk-in: which route works?
- Campus placement: the easiest route if your college has it. Prepare early for aptitude and coding tests.
- Off-campus drives: the main route for most freshers. Big IT services companies run national tests open to eligible graduates.
- Referrals: very effective in Bangalore because so many alumni work here. Ask politely, share your resume and the job link, and make it easy for them.
- Walk-ins: still common for support and some testing roles. Only attend walk-ins listed on official careers pages or verified company social accounts.
Where to Live and How to Plan Your Commute
Bangalore's traffic is famous, so where you live matters as much as where you work. A few simple rules help freshers a lot:
- Stay close to your hub. If you are interviewing mostly in Electronic City, look for a PG in Electronic City, Bommanahalli or HSR. For Whitefield and ORR, look at Marathahalli, Brookefield, Kundalahalli or Bellandur. For Manyata, look at Hebbal, Nagawara or Thanisandra.
- Use the metro where it helps. Check the current Namma Metro map before choosing a PG; a short walk to a metro station can save a lot of time every day.
- Do not sign a long lease before the offer. Short-term PG stays are better while you are still interviewing.
- Plan interview days. Try to group face-to-face interviews in the same hub on the same day, and leave early for morning slots.
How to Avoid Fake Job Offers in Bangalore
Because so many freshers move to Bangalore every year, fake job offers and paid "placement" scams are common. Learn the warning signs before you accept anything.

- Never pay for a job. Genuine companies do not charge registration, training, laptop or security deposit fees to hire you.
- Check the email domain. Offers should come from the company's own domain, not from a free email address.
- Verify on the careers page. The role you were "selected" for should exist on the company's official careers site or a trusted job portal.
- Be careful of instant offers. A real IT offer comes after a test or at least one proper interview. "Selected without interview" is a red flag.
- Read the offer letter. Look for the company's legal name, address, CTC breakup, joining date and a named HR contact you can verify.
